The funny thing about those Taurus people is that they seem to have everything going for them. They have the right career, live in the right side of town, and seem to have everything figured out.
On top of it all, they also look good. In terms of social status, they have the game all sewn up.
The right people want to be seen with them. The right teams want them as team members. What can possibly be wrong with this picture?
The problem with the typical Taurus mentality is that what you see is not exactly what you get.
The reason why Taurus people pay such a high premium on looking good and being seen with the right people is that deep down inside, they suffer from low self-esteem.
A lot of Taurus individuals suffer from fraud or imposter syndrome. The fraud or imposter syndrome happens to people who seem to be high achieving people.
These are people who reach the very top of their career field and go places in life.
However, deep down inside, they feel that they do not deserve their success, cheated their way, or somehow cut corners to get to where they are. In other words, they feel like giant frauds.
Taurus people can suffer from the imposter or fraud syndrome directly or from related symptoms. Regardless of the exact issue that they are grappling with, it all manifests in low self-esteem.
If you are a Taurus and are looking for ways to boost your self esteem, here are 4 tips.
They go a long way in helping you pick yourself up, especially during challenging times.
– Focus on how far you have come
Taurus people, obviously, had to come from somewhere. In many cases, they have come a long distance.
They may be at the top of their game right now, but they have not always been at the top. In fact, in many cases, they had to deal with a lot of opposition and outright hostility to get to where they are.
It is always a good idea to look at how far you have come.
You should realize that a lot of people would love to be in your place and be jealous of the inner strength, discipline, and will power needed to go from point A to point B.
That is exactly what you have accomplished and that deserves appreciation and respect.
Nobody will respect you unless you respect yourself first. At least, appreciate yourself at that level.
– Focus on what you have learned
Another way to measure success is to look at it as a series of learning lessons.
For you to be successful means that you have learned quite a bit. And in many cases, you have learned very hard lessons.
You have learned and appreciated the lessons that people would normally want to run away from.
This is a tremendous compliment.
Allow yourself to savor those hard lessons and feel good about having learned those hard lessons.
In many cases, you have mastered the lessons that people have yet to learn.
– Appreciate the hurdles that you have overcome
As I have mentioned earlier, there are many ways to measure success. One way to measure success is to look at how many goodies you have.
Unfortunately, people who measure success this way are only looking at part of the picture. They do not realize the sacrifices, compromises, and the hard work needed to achieve that level of success.
You are where you are because you have overcome a lot of oppositions.
Not only did you look at your fear straight in the eye, but you have managed to beat them.
Pat yourself on the back. Give yourself that luxury because most people run away from their fears, are weak, do not look at what is holding them back from living the whole life they are capable of living.
Instead, they take the easy way out. That is why most people are not successful.
– Time to roll out the toys
If everything else fails and you are still suffering from low self-esteem, it is time to hit the panic button and roll out the toys. That is right.
Taurus people, just like most earth signs, make a big deal out of material expressions of wealth.
Maybe you have a BMW, a Mercedes, some other high-end toys, it is a good time to go to the garage and take a look at your toys there.
Also, you might want to stroll through your home and give yourself the luxury of simply enjoying the great home that you have which most people would die for.
I know that this is a fairly shallow comfort, but if everything else fails, you might want to focus on your material side. Taurus individuals have a strong material side and they are very practical.
If any kind of emotional or spiritual rationalization will not do the trick for you, go for the tried and proved approach of simply appreciating all the material blessings you have.
This is a great way of taking stock of what you have so you can feel more appreciative of the great material blessings and advantages you have over others.
To recap, the interesting thing about Taurus self-esteem is that they are caught in a tug of war between external perception and internal reality.
Taurus, being materialist (earth) signs, tend to place a lot (too much?) stock in others’ perceptions.
They believe that being perceived as something is pretty much the same as being actually what you’re perceived as. This, of course, opens a can of problems.
They start believing their own press. When they place their trust on outside perception and validation, that’s when all the problems start to appear.
To get over Taurus self-esteem issues once and for all, the typical Taurus needs to focus on living a life of integrity.
Integral living is all about lining up your inner world with your outer world. When there is an imbalance between the two, your self-esteem takes a hit.
Deep down, you start feeling like a fraud.
When you feel that there is a high degree of correlation and integrity between your inner world and your outer world, you start to feel better about yourself.
