Aquarius people are very idealistic. If you’re an Aquarius, you might be rolling your eyes at this.
You might be thinking that you’re a completely realistic person.
You might be thinking that you want to live your life in a world that is based on what truly exists. You are of course absolutely correct.
When it comes to practical matters, you are more than realistic. You know how the game is played. You know how things work.
You make the right decisions based on how the world really operates. No problems there.
However, you are idealistic in a different kind of world.
In the emotional realm, you have all these impossible demands that you make on yourself and on other people that get in the way of you being completely happy.
I know this is hard to listen to. I know it’s hard to accept, but it’s the absolute fact.
The truth is if you’ve been experiencing relationship issues in the past, you need to confront this part of yourself.
Otherwise, progress is not possible. It simply isn’t.
Why? You don’t allow yourself to live in the real emotional world.
Just as the real practical world has its own set of rules and agendas, the real emotional world has its own set of rules.
Unfortunately, by constantly trying to find a perfect person or define love in ridiculously impossible ways, you’re just setting yourself up with a lot of unhappiness down the road.
If you want to become happier, start living in the world as it exists.
Start aligning your emotions based on how things operate.
People are screwed up. People mess up. People say bad things.
People do bad things.
That’s what makes us people. Just as there’s no such thing as a complete saint, there is no such thing as a complete sinner either.
We’re all in the gray area of life.
Unfortunately, if you like to divide the world into black-and-white areas of emotional purity, you are only setting yourself up for an endless chain of frustration.
You really are.
This way of thinking really undermines your ability to become happy at a truly deep and real level.
While it’s okay to believe in the concept of a soul mate, it’s not okay to believe that person has to be perfect. Here are the reasons why.
We live in an imperfect world
If we are to measure the world based on ideals, then the world really is hopeless.
The truth is reality will never match up to ideals. Why?
Ideals don’t exist.
Ideals are like these numbers in a computer program somewhere. They exist only in our minds, expectations, and assumptions.
However, if we are to apply that into our waking reality, we create all sorts of problems for ourselves.
The worst part of it all is that these are unnecessary problems.
We don’t have to suffer from these issues, but we put ourselves in a position where we’re constantly feeling let down.
If you simply accept that we live in an imperfect world, then your conception of a soul mate would become more realistic.
I the fact that we live in an imperfect world, then it logically follows that people are imperfect.
If you want to fall in love, accept that people are imperfect, then your mind would be open to defining the idea of a soul mate as someone who is less than perfect.
Does this mean that the person has to be a complete scumbag or somebody who would abuse and mistreat you? Of course not.
However, it shouldn’t be a knight in shining armor either. I hope you see the point here.
By simply defining the right person in your life based on unreachable ideals, you might be simply defining yourself out of ever falling in love.
People do make mistakes
As I’ve mentioned earlier, we live in an imperfect world filled with imperfect people.
Since we’re all imperfect, we all make mistakes. The worst part is our mistakes often have effects on our present reality.
For example, if you were driving drunk in the past, chances are you would have a criminal record, or you would have been an accident.
The point is your past actions and mistakes will have an impact on your current reality.
You should be able to accept this because you made mistakes in the past as well. You are probably still grappling with the impact of those mistakes.
However, you shouldn’t define people by their past mistakes.
There’s a big difference between somebody who is addicted to drugs and somebody who is an addict.
When you dismiss people and tell them, “Oh, you’re just an addict,” this means you’ve basically written them off.
You just basically told them that they are worthless, irredeemable, and not worthy of love.
However, if you say that person used to do drugs or does drugs, you put a wall between that person and what they do.
You have to remember that people are worth loving in of themselves.
Our past mistakes, our bad habits, or our sins do not define us.
They’re just part of what makes us who we are, but they don’t define us.
This is the first step to truly loving and accepting somebody if you’re able to divorce what they do either in the present or in the past with who they are.
Soul mates are soul mates because they are mates–they are your life companions
You have to understand that a soul mate is first and foremost a mate.
This means that they’re your friend, your companion, and your co-adventurers in the world.
If you define soul mate in other terms, then you are not defining them properly.
You are either putting them on a pedestal, or you are crushing them underfoot. Neither situation is fair.
They have to be your life companion or the person who spends time with you as you journey through life. You get to enjoy the world with them.
This is the proper definition of a soul mate. Did you notice that perfection isn’t part of equation?
Aquarius people tend to define themselves out of happiness. This is really sad.
Unfortunately, this happens all the time – especially in the next 12 months.
They only need to let go of their emotional ideals, and the whole world will open up to them.
They are definitely worth loving. They have a lot to offer.
However, they often are their own worst enemies when it comes to matters of the heart.
